Gardening can be tough on your hands, mine often end up covered in dirt, with green stains under my nails from pinching out tomato side shoots.

My journey towards making artisan, plant-based soap started in 2018 during Plastic Free July. As a household we realised just how much single-use plastic we were buying & shower gel and hand soap were the first things I tackled along with switching to refills for other products like laundry liquid and washing up liquid.

There’s something that seems both grounding and uplifting in Anna Ancher’s paintings, the way she captures sunlight falling across a room, women at work doing everyday tasks, small moments filled with colour. Until last month I had never even heard of Anna Ancher, until Dulwich Picture Gallery got in touch with me.
