Why a Good Soap Holder Matters - your soap will thank you!

It’s easy to overlook, but the way you store your soap has a real impact on how long it lasts.

A bar left sitting in water will soften, wear down quickly and lose its shape. A well-designed holder allows it to drain and dry fully, keeping it firm and usable for longer.

A simple idea, rethought

The holders I've chosen to stock are made by Soapi, a small design-led brand based in Berlin, founded by Emilia and Karli in 2023.

Their starting point was simple - soap didn’t seem to have a proper place. Traditional dishes left bars sitting in water, while older magnetic holders felt outdated & simply not very appealing to look at.

Soapi is their answer to that: a refined version of a classic idea, designed to feel modern, minimal and genuinely useful in everyday spaces. For those of us living in apartments, or with limited space and small bathroom basins, the Soapi is a game changer, it's modern, eco-friendly & stylish!

Made from recycled fishing nets

Each Soapi is made from recycled plastic granules sourced from Denmark, these are created from marine waste, such discarded fishing nets & ropes.

Depending on the colour, around 90% of the material comes from these recycled sources. The material is then cast and assembled in Berlin, giving new life to something that would otherwise contribute to ocean pollution.

It’s a small object, but one with a wider impact - turning waste plastic into something practical, durable and incredibly well designed.

Small materials, thoughtful impact

The system itself is simple - a small metal bottle cap (also reclaimed & recycled) is pressed into the soap, allowing it to attach magnetically to the holder. It’s a detail that feels almost invisible in use, but makes using the soap bar way more fun (if ordering here I include a funky recycled Fritz-Kola bottle cap with every Soapi purchase to get you started.)

Soapi have also explored ways to make even this element more considered, including collaborations using recycled bottle caps. Some have come from partnerships with Berlin brands such as Fritz-Kola, giving everyday materials a second life in a practical and unexpectedly stylish way.
